This is the official web site for anthropologist, Dr Christiana Oware Knudsen. A Ghanaian, who has spent most of her adult life in Denmark and Europe, her work is concerned with the interaction between European and African cultures. Her work is also inspired by her interest in spiritual healing and she has done research into the professionalisation of distant spiritual healing practices as complementary to medical healthcare.

Her latest work, entitled Ancient West African Women - Toppled Cornerstones, is takes the reader on a polemic journey to discover the shifting fortunes of West African women during between the 9th and 19th centuries.
